I'm very proud to be Canadian.  Not only did we poke fun of ourselves over and over last night during the closing ceremonies (I'm sorry, but giant mounties?  giant beavers?  all we needed were igloos and we'd have hit every stereotype.  AMAZING!!!!) but we showed what it is to be Canadian.

We were thisclose to winning our first gold on Canadian soil.  We've never won gold at an Olympic Games held in Canada.  I thought, 'wow, wouldn't it be awesome if we won gold on the first day of the games/"  Jen Heil almost got there, and then Hannah Kearney skiied right after and snatched that dream away from us.

Twenty four hours, multiple indescretions and the cover of every newspaper in Toronto and Adam Giambrone has dropped out of the Mayoral Race for Toronto.  My grandmother is very upset.  Not about the affairs.  Not about the bad publicity (although she is concerned).  That he's not running for mayor any longer and she won't be able to vote for him ( Read more... )
